Phone Scams: Please be aware that lately there are many fraudulent phone calls received by taxpayers. Usually, taxpayers receive recorded voice messages stating that IRS or US Treasury initiated a criminal case against you. Please do not provide any information and do not call back. IRS doesn’t initiate contact with taxpayers by phone, email, or text messages to request personal or financial information. IRS sends letters to troublesome taxpayers to inform of delinquent taxes.
